Kibler’s is a preorder-only store. Every comic and graphic novel we sell is ordered in advance against a publisher deadline — that is how we make sure the books you want are actually on the shelf on release day. This page explains exactly how that works, so there are no surprises.
How preorders work
- Every book’s page shows its FOC date (Final Order Cutoff) and its release date. FOC is the publisher’s ordering deadline — always a Monday.
- Order before a book’s FOC and your copy is locked in. Ordering closes automatically the night of the FOC date.
- After FOC, the book shows as sold out and can no longer be ordered. We do not take late orders, and we do not hold unpaid copies.
Payment
You are charged the full price of your order when you place it — that payment is what reserves your copies. The price you pay is the price on the book’s page at the time you order; if a publisher changes a price afterward, your price does not change.
Release dates
Release dates are set by the publishers and distributors, and they sometimes move. If a book’s release shifts, your preorder simply ships when the book arrives — see our Shipping Policy for how orders are shipped.
Cancellations and changes
- Before a book’s FOC date: you can cancel it from your account page, or message us, for a full refund.
- After a book’s FOC date: your copy has been ordered in specifically for you. Message us and we will do our best — if we can place the copy with another customer or into stock, we will refund you; otherwise we will offer store credit.
- If we cannot fulfill a book — for example, the publisher cancels it, or the distributor ships us fewer copies than we ordered (an allocation) — you get a full refund for that book automatically. No need to ask.
Per-customer limits
Some items are limited per customer so more collectors get a shot at them — including ratio variant covers, multi-copy packs, and ashcan editions, which are limited to one per customer. Any limit is stated on the book’s page and enforced at checkout.
Questions
Held shipments — build a pile
Want several preorders to travel together instead of one package per order? At checkout, any order can join your pile instead of shipping on its own. You choose per order:
- Weekly pile — everything that has released ships together after each week (Mon–Sun).
- Monthly pile — everything that has released ships together after each month.
The first held order in a cycle pays the normal shipping charge; every additional held order in the same cycle ships free — you never pay postage twice on one pile. When a cycle ends we pack everything in your pile that has released; books that have not released yet stay in the pile for the next cycle. Held shipments need a Kibler’s account, so your pile stays yours. Prefer to grab them yourself? Choose Local pickup at checkout and we will hold your books at the shop instead.
Message us any time on Facebook or Instagram (@Kiblerskollectibles) and we will sort it out.
